Well it's that time. Friday Night Football. Here's a list of the Week Zero games:

West Mesquite at Corsicana: Coach Phil Castles makes his debut for the Tigers.
Bosqueville at Dawson: Dawson tries to snap three-game losing streak in series.
Kerens at Valley Mills: Bobcats dedicating regular season to head coach Russell Anderson.
Waco Reicher at Mildred: Eagles moving on without Thomas McDonald. 
Blooming Grove at Wortham: RB Trey Davis makes debut for Lions; Coach Jerry Young for Wortham.
Dallas Life at Hubbard: Jags try to make good first impression under new coach Joe Heckathorn.
Santo at Frost: Polar Bears look for first win since 2006.
Rice vs Quinlan Boles (7 p.m. Sat. in Canton): Tough opening-season test for Rice.

Chris Davis to return to Rangers

T.R. Sullivan of texasrangers.com is reporting that the Rangers are expected to call up first baseman Chris Davis for Tuesday's series opener against the Yankees in New York.

Sullivan says that Davis is expected to play regularly at first base with Hank Blalock being semi-demoted to a platoon at designated hitter.

Davis is batting .327 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 44 games and 165 at-bats since being sent back to Triple-A Oklahoma City at the end of June.

Tigers first scrimmage less than 12 hours away

We're less than 12 hours away from the first time we'll see the Tigers go up against another opponent, this one Class 3A Longview Pine Tree.

I want to see how quarterback Cameron Cutrer looks, and Dontrelle Coleman and Chris Edling, and hopefully Thomas McDonald too. I want to see how the defensive line has progressed. And I want to see if any of the younger players step up.

Just a note Rusty Hitt, Chuck Williams and myself will be on the air for the entire scrimmage starting at 9:30 a.m. on KAND 1340-AM, the home of Tigers football. That's going to be your radio crew for this season.
