A note before we get to tonight's Golden Circle Gameday:

Fox Sports Southwest will televise next Saturday's Southlake Carroll vs. Galena Park North Shore football game at Tiger Stadium. Game time is 6 p.m.

The showdown between two of the state's top Class 5A programs has been dubbed the "Hurricane Ike Bowl" because last year's game between to the teams in Southlake was cancelled because of the hurricane that hit the Texas coast.

Kerens at Cayuga: The battle is on between the Bobcats’ Pat Faulk and the Wildcats’ Traylon Shead.

Maypearl at Mildred: The Eagles are still looking for the first victory of the season.

Blooming Grove at Grandview: Lions’ three-headed monster at running back needs a big night.

Rice at Dallas Life (in Waxahachie): Rice looking for two-game winning streak. 

Dawson at De Leon: Bulldogs looking to avenge blowout loss at home in 2008.

Perren-Whitt at Frost: No reason to believe the Polar Bears won’t move to 4-0.

Hubbard at Bartlett: Jags coach Joe Heckathorn wants first win as coach before district.

Wortham at Buffalo: Can Wortham get to 3-1 on the season against a team that shut the Bulldogs out last year?
